We maintain impressive accuracy on all brake forming projects we are presented with to create a flawless final product.
One of the oldest mechanical metal deformation processes that exists, brake forming is one of our specialties here at Stainless Outfitters Inc. During the brake forming process, we form a piece of sheet metal along a straight axis. There are many ways we can accomplish this, and we often do this using a channel-shaped, “V”-shaped, or “U”-shaped punch and die set.
Although brake forming appears simple in theory, it can be difficult to maintain accuracy throughout the process. This is because the bending process is a function of the work-piece material and the tooling. Rest assured that our fabricators know how to properly follow through with this fabrication process and that we are set on creating a flawless end product whenever we are presented with a new project.
While we primarily work with stainless steel, some of the materials that can be used during the brake forming process include brass, aluminum, cold rolled carbon steel and hot rolled carbon steel. As you put together plans for your project, please let us know your exact specifications. Our team will be sure to listen to you during the consultation phase and to come up with fabrication plans that meet your specific needs with exactness.
